20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954)

The story of the movie, which is based on Jules Verne's 1870 novel of the same name, involves a ship being attacked by a gigantic sea creature, and the survivors being captured by the enigmatic Captain Nemo and his amazing underwater vessel, the Nautilus. The hostages doubt Nemo's objectives and sanity as they explore the ocean's depths and the strange world below the seas, which ultimately leads to a conflict between the captain and his prisoners.
