After a vehicle crash in the Pine Barrens, a teenager goes missing, sparking conspiracy theories about the legendary Jersey Devil. A year later, Sarah Franklin becomes convinced that her cousin Kelsey is still alive and decides to investigate the crash site with Kelsey's boyfriend, Alex. However, their investigation quickly takes a dark turn as they discover what truly resides in the woods.
